INGREDIENTS
- Homemade Burger Buns
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 1/2 cups Italian seitan (chopped in small pieces)
- 2 tablespoons Sofrito
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 cup red onion (chopped)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 3 fresh oregano leaves
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup green bell pepper (chopped in small pieces)
- Vegan cheddar sliced cheese
- Vegan mayo
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add olive oil to a medium size pan over medium heat
- Add Italian seitan, sofrito, seasonings, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, onions and peppers and stir.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes on medium heat.
- Remove from heat.
- Add mayo, cheese and seitan to the buns.
- Serve with a side of salad and sauerkraut.
